Bravo for Queentastic in Miami

In the now epic tradition, Bravo recently launched “The Real Housewives of Miami” with a twist – one of the Housewives is a drag queen! Famed South Beach drag queen Elaine Lancaster joins Larsa Younan, the wife of retired NBA star Scottie Pippin; Christina Rice, the ex-wife of former Miami Heat star Glen Rice; art scene socialite Adriana Sidi; Venue Magazine editor Alexia Echeverria; public relations expert Marysol Patton; and charity planner Lea Black, who is the wife of famed defense attorney Roy Black.

Big in the Miami gay scene, Elaine Lancaster (James Davis)  is world famous and regularly performs at clubs like Limelight, Bar Room, Liquid, Shadow Lounge, Warsaw Ballroom, Life, Level, Space, Red Square, and Roxy. Elaine pens a column called go diva for Miami’s miamigo. After she takes off her lashes and removes her make-up, she works on “Home Cooking with Elaine”.

Vanity Fair writer George Wayne named Elaine the Best Local Celebrity in Miami. Both Channel Magazine and New Times selected Elaine as the Best Drag Queen for 1999-2000. Some of Elaine’s favorite illusions are Cher and Jackie Collins. For more on Elaine Lancaster, go here.

Feb 4, 2011 UPDATE: Just breaking news, Elaine Lancaster will not be included in The Real Housewives of Miami! BUMMER! However, we are told Elaine will have several cameos on the show.
